"I will extol thee, my God, O king; And I will bless thy name for ever and ever. 2 Every day will I bless thee; And I will praise thy name for ever and ever. 3 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; And his greatness is unsearchable." Psalm 145:1–3
Our praise of our God will never end, as He is so shall our praise be. Therefore, our praise of Him is endless as our God is eternal and changeless! In addition, we have endless reasons to rejoice in our God. Getting to know Him is a pursuit that will extend throughout all eternity. That praise should begin today and remain daily upon our lips without ever ceasing. Our LORD is a “mega” God that deserves “mega” praise in a “mega” search to know Him better. What have you found out about your God today that you just can’t contain any longer?
This Psalm 145 of the sweet Psalmist of Israel, David, is the only one designated as one of “Praise”. It is not a private praise session, but employs no less than eight different Hebrew words to give rise to a public declaration of His God (verses 4-7, 11-12, 21). David wants everyone to know who God is and what God has done. God is just as viable or relevant for us as He is for the next generation (verse 4). We and the next generations must vocalize the awesome acts of God in His goodness and mercy (verse 9-10). In conclusion the Psalm recounts with more specificity the ways our God helps his own and hears their cries as the Sovereign LORD of all (verses 13-20).
Our Lord is worthy of our praise today and forevermore. No amount of praise from our lips could ever sufficiently express a comprehension of God or encompass all He has done.
"All glory, laud and honor to Thee, Redeemer, King . . .”
