Relentless Attack

UNDER ATTACK!!! The gospel of Jesus Christ is under attack! You may be saying, “that is nothing new”, and you would be correct, yet "evil men and seducers [are] wax[ing] worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived" (2 Timothy 3:13). Many alternatives are being offered in the name of the “gospel”. This incessant, unrelenting attack of Satan through the ages against God’s established and clear truth with the pointed question of “hath God said?” (Gen. 3:1) must be continually countered with “it is written” (Matt. 4:4) by the church today. Let us not become as the Galatian church, “so soon removed from the gospel” (Gal. 1:6), or as the Corinthian church that Paul feared would become beguiled by Satan and his earthly deceivers that portrayed themselves as “ministers of righteousness”, who try to dissuade believers “from the simplicity that is in Christ” (2 Cor. 11:3, 13-16).

Let there be no mistaking the truth that salvation is by grace alone through faith alone in Christ alone, plus nothing (Ephesians 2:8-9). Christ's once for all sacrifice is the all-sufficient means of our cleansing and forgiveness of sin (Hebrews 10:10,12, 14). Jesus’ resurrection confirms God’s acceptance of His cross-work as complete, and affords all who believe in such, full salvation and a right standing before God (Romans 10:9-10).

The gospel in no way includes membership in a church of any stripe or denomination. In other words, your salvation is not dependent upon your church affiliation. The church has no power to save! Only the gospel of Jesus Christ has power to save anyone that believes in it (Romans 1:16). Let me further state that water baptism is not the ground of salvation from sin, and has no part in it. Nothing washes away sin, but the blood of Jesus Christ by means of faith in that blood (Ephesians 1:7, Romans 3:24-25). The gospel, Christ’s death for our sin according to the Scriptures, His burial, and His resurrection on the third day according to the Scriptures, is the basis of our salvation from our sin and absolutely nothing else (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)!! Let no man deceive you, but counteract the deception that is on the rise in our world today.
