No Room for Complaint

In the scope of things presently transpiring around the world, we have much to rejoice over. On our American soil we have not known of real and sustained conflict since the Civil War.  There has arisen peace with our neighbors in large part. With this relative peace we should offer thanks to God for the safety and security that is ours to enjoy. The law and order that is mostly regarded and followed allows for a great amount of stability. We may take precautions in some way to ensure our safety, but for the most part the fear of any reprisal is minimal and sometimes unthinkable. It is such a wonderful blessing to think upon the basic freedoms that we live under in this nation. Although these freedoms are coming under greater scrutiny and to some degree eroding, yet it continues to be our privilege to worship freely and speak freely just to name a couple. Economically the blessings have flowed beyond measure. The hardships faced in most cases pale in comparison to the suffering and scarcity those around the world face. Let us learn contentment, with the peace and joy it brings resulting in much thanksgiving to God for how He has bountifully provided for all of our needs! Those who have far less in these various aforementioned areas than we do are often much more thankful. May we reverse the trend of complaining.

Meditations:

Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

Hebrews 13:15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
