Romans 10:1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.
How deep is our love for the lost? Are we motivated to share the hope of the eternal life that we possess with those that desperately need it? Those without Christ stand condemned in their sin, under the wrath of God, facing eternal punishment, and without the slightest hope of seeing God or of experiencing Heaven.“Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men . . .” (2 Corinthians 5:11). The apostle Paul’s heart, moved by Christ’s love expressed to him, captivated his life and caused complete surrender to the ministry of seeking the reconciliation of all mankind to God as Christ’s ambassador (2 Cor. 5:14, 20). Man’s sin has separated them from God, but Christ’s perfect sacrifice and endless life has made possible, by faith in Him alone, the removal of sin, resulting in a right and restored relationship with God (2 Cor. 5:21). These precious truths we have received would be cruel and unusual to keep to ourselves ~ certainly, this gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord is worth sharing.
So in preparation to disseminate the seed of the gospel, let us give ourselves to prayer unto a God who can prepare us for gospel presentation and the heart’s of the lost for gospel reception. God, by His Spirit, has promised to provide us with the power to witness of Christ. Thus, we need to pray for Holy Spirit boldness accompanied with wisdom in how we approach people in order to turn them onto the good news of Christ, and not turn them away from the Bread and Water of life than can fully satisfy their souls dearth (Ephesians 6:18-20; Colossians 4:2-6).
This battle for the souls of mankind has a Satanic element. He is scheming to keep the lost captivated with sin and its resultant darkness - blinded to the truth that the end is death and destruction (2 Cor. 4:3-4). Satan is also deploying his seeming “ministers of righteousness” to twist the Scriptures for their own means and gain (2 Cor. 11:13-15). We must give ourselves to prayer that the faithless will not gain an advantage and impede the progress of the gospel message (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2). The unhindered flow of the gospel into all regions of the world and into every heart is our prayer and aim.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
