How grateful we should be for the approachability of our God. He is a very present help at every turn (Psalm 46:1). It matters not what we might be going through in our lives, He is always interested and truly cares (Matthew 10:29-31; 1 Peter 5:7). We stand in awe of the fact that Jesus, as our mediator, prays to the Father on our behalf with an understanding of us because He became one of us. Therefore, we come boldly unto the throne of grace with an ever-living intercessor to find the all-sufficient mercy and grace to help us in all our needs (Hebrews 4:14-16)!
Upon this sure foundation, we make our requests known joyfully, persistently, confidently, and expectantly (Philippians 4:6-7; 1 John 5:14). We should always pray and not give up as our Lord instructs by way of a parable in Luke 18:1 and following!
The availability of our great God does not depend on us scheduling a time or petitioning in some ritualistic or routine manner. He invites us to come with any and all of our supplications, whether they are great or small. The prayers can be short or long, vocalized or silent, private or public (Nehemiah 2:4-5). Each of these avenues are open to communicating our hearts’ needs to the Lord of Heaven!!
So let us come to God with an attitude of humility in seeking the accomplishments of His will (James 4:3). Let us come in confession of sins (1 John 1:9). May we always enter into prayer having not only our fellowship sweet with our Father, but with those created in His image and likeness. That would include our spouses, brothers and sisters in Christ, and other relations (1 Peter 3:7; Matthew 5:23-24).
Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17
