Hebrews 13:3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
Our hearts go out to those members of the persecuted church around the world, or those who are experiencing the tribulations of life from natural disasters. Especially, we bear in mind the current situation in Afghanistan and Haiti. Oh, the intense terror and deep sorrow that must be seeking control of their hearts and minds, yet by our prayers coupled with their heartfelt cries to the God of heaven and earth they can obtain strength to face these otherwise insurmountable circumstances with hope, peace and joy in believing (Romans 15:13 Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.).
We pray that each believer would be demonstrating a steadfast faith that would speak volumes to the unbelieving and desperately needy souls that could at any moment come to their end without the only hope of eternal life found in Christ. (1 Peter 5:9–10 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world. 10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.)
Remember to seek God’s face on behalf of our brothers and sisters in Christ for protection and deliverance from wicked and godless men that have not faith, and the devastation that acts of nature can cause upon possessions and lives. (Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me; 31 That I may be delivered from them that do not believe in Judaea; and that my service which I have for Jerusalem may be accepted of the saints; Romans 15:30–31).
As we have opportunity we could also express our compassion with doing good unto all men, and especially those of the household of faith through monetary gifts (Gal. 6:10). If you would like to help by giving toward BMM's World Relief fund, visit https://www.bmm.org/partner/find-a-project and click on "4. World Relief." Your gift provides missionaries on the ground in Haiti with tangible help that leads to opportunities to share the gospel with those in need. Thank you!
