"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver" (Proverbs 25:11), or “. . . a word spoken in due season, how good it is" (Proverbs 15:23).
God's promises should always put a spring in our step and revitalize us. For instance, His loving and constant presence with us shatters the loneliness we are prone to feel. "He is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother", and is one that will "never leave us nor forsake us" (Proverbs 18:24; Hebrews 13:5).
In addition, our Lord's providential care reassures us in any circumstance. "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it" (1 Corinthians 10:13). Also, "It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness" (Lamentations 3:22-23).
Then we must not lose sight of God's preparation for Christ's return. The blessed hope and glorious appearing is on the horizon (Titus 2:13). All will be well, not just for time, but for eternity. For now, God is working in us to will and to do of His good pleasure so that He might present us faultless before His presence with exceeding joy (Philippians 2:13; Jude 24).
Oh what joy it will be to see our Savior face to face, to be like Him, and to be with Him forever (1 John 3:2; 1 Thessalonians 4:17). "Wherefore comfort one another with words" (1 Thessalonians 4:18).
