“O-B-E-D-I-E-N-C-E is the very best way to show that you believe.”
Last week we considered some good examples of faithful living by Old Testament saints according to God’s specific commands. Learning to lean on God’s ways and follow His will are always best. God can be trusted!
What are some New Testament commands for us as believers today that we must take into account so that we may please our Lord and Savior? It is imperative that the just walk by faith. The Word of God reveals to us His perfect will that requires our complete and unreserved submission. Consider the following:
REGULARLY MEETING TOGETHER WITH BELIEVERS AS THE CHURCH. What a blessing it is to come together and be an encouragement!
Hebrews 10:24–25 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: 25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
REGULARLY GIVING TOWARD THE SPREAD OF THE GOSPEL IN KATY AND ABROAD THROUGH THE CHURCH. What a joy to participate in supporting ministry, missions & myriad of other church endeavors!
1 Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him . . .
2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
These are just a couple of ways to be a living sacrifice. How good it is for us and others to put into practice the desires of God for His own. Oh, that we might follow Christ wholeheartedly!
“ . . . joy you will receive, obedience is the very best way . . .”
