                                Our
                                Story

How it all started...

Leon and Nancy Willover having returned from the mission field of Guyana, SA in the early 1980's had a burden form for Katy. In 1985 under their
leadership, the fellowship of believers that had formed decided to merge with another work in the area, Grace Baptist Church, to become Good News. The location of the church has changed venues a couple of times since its inception. The current buildings were relocated to the current property around 1995, at which time Virgil and Glenna Yehnert took the helm. Gerald and Julie Hawk have carried on the ministry to those in Katy with the same heart for God and its people as their predecessors since 2014.

Expanding the vision...

The Lord continues to add to His church those that should be saved, and others that have already been saved. We endeavor to keep faithfully evangelizing the lost of our community with the truth. With the love of our Savior we seek to minister to individual and family needs with compassion and vital ministries. It is our desire to do all this with purity and sincerity, and without compromise of our faith outworked in a conservative manner.

Where we are headed...

As we grow in grace and in number here at Good News we desire to reach all the ethnicities around us. Thus, we are always endeavoring to expand the scope of our outreach. Also, we are praying much for this mission work to become fully self-supporting. Our goal, Lord willing, over the next few years involves training individuals for service, the construction of a new church building on-site, and locating another area for a new church plant.
