We are a fundamental baptist work that has served the Katy area for many years with love and compassion for the souls of men. It is our desire to stay true to the Bible in its literal, historical and grammatical context. We strive to hold services that are reverent, and yet fresh with worship of God. Please consider the following short listing of doctrines as a basis of all we do at Good News Baptist Church:

1. We believe in the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as verbally inspired of God, and inerrant in the original writing, and that they are of supreme and final authority in faith and life in all matters to which they speak. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:19, 20)

2. A. We believe that God is a sovereign, living, intelligent, rational being and that He has a plan for man and for the universe. We believe He has the will, power, and authority, and is actively engaged in carrying that plan to completion. (Genesis 18:25; Isaiah 57:15; Ephesians 2:10; Romans 8:28, 29)

B. We believe in One God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Deuteronomy 6:4, 5; 1 Corinthians 8:6; 1 John 5:7; Matthew 28:19)

3. We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of Mary, a virgin, and is true God and true man. (Matthew 1:18-20; Luke 1:26-38; John 14:7-11; John 20:28; Galatians 4:4, 5)

4. We believe in the literal Genesis account of creation. We believe that man was create in the image of God, that he sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death, but also spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and are sinners in thought, word and deed. (Genesis 1:26, 27; Romans 5:12; Romans 3:23)

5. We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice, and that all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Hebrews 10:9-12; Romans 3:24)
